Background and Training
As a fashion buyer life was very busy with a toddler who had not slept through the night until his first birthday, I had never been so tired. After the birth of my second child I wanted to find out more in the hope of avoiding the same problem again and swapped buying for a place back at university again studying Postnatal Facilitation. After graduating 2011, I started working for a national parenting charity supporting new parents in the transition to parenthood and all things postnatal. I still currently practice in central London. In this role I discovered that many new parents had misinformed ideas about how babies sleep. Unqualified sleep consultants were only too happy to exploit these expectations, leaving parents at best with a temporary solution that would disintegrate after an episode of teething or travelling to a different time zone. What was more usual was that parents would be left with a plan that went against their instincts, disrupted feeding and left the whole family very stressed due to long periods of crying. I thought that there was a better way to support this and as a university trained postnatal practitioner I knew that all sleep coaches were not equal. I have trained with several respected providers such as the Millpond Sleep Clinic and OCN Sleep Training. I am a member of the International Association of Child Sleep Consultants (IACSC) and a Peppy Health Approved Sleep Practitioner. My degree in Food Science and university diploma in Postnatal Facilitation both compliment sleep coaching training, offering an excellent source of support to a new parent.
